Out-of-Network: An alternative option for clients who would like to use their out-of-network insurance benefits will be provided with a service receipt. The receipt can be provided by the client to their insurance company or health care spending account for payment. Clients should always confirm with their insurance companies about reimbursement options prior to utilizing these payment options.

If you would like to utilize your out-of-network healthcare insurance benefits, I have set my fees to be usual and customary based on licensed professional counselor’s fees in our area. I f you would like to consider using your health insurance benefits for out-of-network services there is information you will need to obtain prior to receiving services. Using your out-of-network benefits can seem daunting, however, t o ease this process I can assist you with obtaining the information needed to determine your insurance coverage for your therapy sessions. You are also welcome to obtain this information directly from your insurance company by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • Does my insurance plan pay for mental health providers who are Out-of-Network?
  • Can I be reimbursed for the therapy sessions?
  • What is the coverage amount the insurance plan will pay for per therapy session?
  • Is a referral by a physician required?
  • Does my insurance plan pay for: Individual Psychotherapy, Psychological Testing/Assessment, Family Therapy or Group Therapy?
  • How much is the deductible that must be paid before the insurance company will pay anything and has the deductible been met yet?
  • How many sessions per year does my policy pay for?
